This sculpture I created is inspired by Zeus, the one who, in Greek mythology, is considered God of the sky, head of all the gods, son of Cronus and Rhea, younger brother of Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades and Poseidon. It is represented in an abstract form, since being a divinity, it cannot have real human features.
His figure is often symbolized with lightning, the bull, the eagle and the oak. In this I chose to represent him with the fulgore (lightning bolt) in his right hand. While the left expresses its omniptence in a gesture of dominance. The use of the color gold is intended to underline its divine being.
This artifact was modeled from a single block of clay, then subjected to a 950° firing for approximately 15 hours, then cold enamelled. The support of the statue is made of wood.
