Prehistoric vase from Monte Claro Ancient Artistic Ceramics Sardinia
This ceramic belongs to the Monte Claro culture, it takes its name from a hill located within the city of Cagliari where the first findings occurred. The vase reproduced here was probably used for the preservation and containment of food.
It is placed as a period around 2500/2000 BC
In the ceramics of this period, in addition to simple decorations like the one present in this vase, we can also find decorations obtained by impression, engraving, cutting and burnishing. Remains dating back to 2500 BC indicate a notable quantity of wineskins and large vases, testifying to an important agricultural activity which required the conservation of products.

This artifact was created and decorated entirely by hand (without the use of the lathe). It was then subjected to an antiquing process and finally cooked at a temperature of 950 for approximately 15 hours.
