This ceramic belongs to the Monte Claro culture, which spread throughout Sardinia in the pre-Nuragic era, and takes its name from a hill in the city of Cagliari where the first artefacts were found, called Monte Claro.

The decorations of these ceramics are represented by more or less wide and deep grooves and are present both vertically and horizontally on one side only.

This type of ceramic is thought to have been intended for food use for the preservation and containment of food.
