Askos are containers found in numerous Nuragic sites. In addition to the classic beaked shapes, globular or ring-shaped ones have also been found, they could be made of ceramic or bronze. The particular shape of the ceramic is thought to recall that of the stomach of animals. They represented valuable containers used to contain precious drinks such as water, oil and wine. Regarding this last food, historiographical tradition tells that Aristaeus, the traveling companion of Daedalus (builder of the Cretan labyrinth), took refuge in Sardinia where he is thought to have started the cultivation of the vine. This type of pottery was usually decorated with awls and splints made of bone. (tips).
